India Post GDS is very famous among many government job aspirants as it gives a government job without any examination. There are a total 2 posts which you will get after getting selected, ie. GDS BPM AND GDS ABPM

Eligibility

One must pass the SSC boards exam with a minimum of 60% marks along with one regional language which is used to speak in the state in which he is going to apply Also you should have a computer course certificate to get selected in India post gds

GDS Salary


In India post gds will get 2 posts 

1. BPM ( branch post master ) 

2. ABPM ( Assistant branch post master )

If you join as BPM your basic salary will be 12000 indian ruppes + DA ( Dearness allowance) 

But at level 2 branch office your basic will be 14000 

If you join as ABPM your basic salary will be 10000 indian rupees + DA ( Dearness allowace)

Salary of both the are different if you get selected as BPM you will get 12000 as basics pay or TRCA ( time related continuity allowance ) and if you get selected as abpm you will get 10000 asa basic pay or TRCA ( time related continuity allowance ) and also you will get DA which makes your whole salary . You only gets
TRCA + DA + OFFICE MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE ie. 500

Job profile of gds

In this jo have to do the work at the village and city places. BPM have to manage all the branch office,s while ABPM’s work is to deliver the letters and convey of BO bag work of BPM is bit tougher than ABPM as BPM has complete responsibility of the office

Promotions

You will get promoted after 3 years of service through the department’s competitive exams. You need to pass the exams to get promoted If you clear the exam you will become an MTS in the department

As India post Gds you will get chances to promote after 3 years of regular service through departmental compititive examination

After 3 years of service you will be eligible to promote from GDS to MTS after qualifying the exam

If you complete 5 years of regular service as gds then you will be eligible for the exam of postal assistant / postman/ mailgaurd

Transfer in gds

You will get only 2 chances to apply for transfer, and after completing a minimum of one year of service, you are eligible for the transfer
If you are female candidate, you will get 3 chances

After 1 year of service you will be eligible to apply for the transfer portal if you are male gds then you will get 2 chances of transfer in your whole service as gds

If you are female candidate then you will get 3 chances to apply for transfer

Transfer is depend on vacant seats . Your experience and seniority
