About the Temple
It is said that this Shiv Temple Bhatala was built by rakshash (devil) to impress god Shankar. It is also said that The temple was built overnight by them. The temple is very big in size and the shivling inside the temple is considered as biggest shivling in Maharashtra. The size of shivling is 1.25 m .
The temple is made from yellow sandstone.
During Mahashivratri a 3-day jatra is celebrated here

Bhavani Devi temple
The Bhavani Devi temple is built adjacent to the lake at Bhatala. This temple is also famous in the area during Navratri a 9-day festival celebrated here
